Training deadline extended

CAF Air Marshal Angus Houston has extended the deadline for personnel to complete computer-based Occupational Health and Safety training.

Personnel were to have completed this training by July 31. Owing to the current high operational tempo, CAF has extended the completion date to September 30.

The implementation of computer-based OHS awareness training stems from a report, presented to CAF last December, that laid the foundations and framework for the new Air Force Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) known as RAAFSAFE.

The OHSMS outlines the responsibility of commanders to establish and maintain a safe work environment and also provides the policy, tools and safety adviser network to assist them to safely pursue their mission.

The OHS awareness training is available via the DOMAIN portal which is accessed through the DAFS and DSMA web sites.
