Recruitment targets need

Transport drivers are an area of need.

Transport drivers are an area of need.

About 128 direct entrants are hoped to be recruited into the Reserves in 2004-05.

Reserve recruitment will target areas of need – mostly general hands, but also logistics officers, ground defence officers, education officers, security police
officers, suppliers and motor transport drivers, electricians, plumbers and carpenters.

This need has been driven by the imminent introduction of the Wartime Establishment (WE).

Known and expected shortages in the WE have been targeted and the Reserves are able to provide some recruiting flexibility should the need arise.

Last financial year’s target for Reserves was 259 direct entrants.
