AIRFIELD
Defence Guards put their training to good use on their return
from Exercise Bersarma Shield, held in Malaysia.
No. 4 Rifle Flight of No. 2 Airfield Defence Squadron at RAAF
Base Amberley were returning home in a C-130 that encountered
engine problems and had to divert to Bali.
The ADGs provided aircraft security on the tarmac while maintenance
crews fixed the problem.
They had done a similar job on the exercise, attached to No. 82
Wing, by providing 24-hour vehicle and foot patrols for the security
of No. 6 Squadron F-111s.
They also did weapon continuation training. The linguist with
them practised his skills, too.
