THE
first open day at RAAF Base Tindal in eight years will showcase
Defence’s capabilities to the community of Katherine.
The open day, on August 15, is part of a five-year program of
public events at each of the major bases in Australia with the
theme Defence and the Community.
Personnel at Tindal will be involved in an air display of an F/A-18
four ship fly-past and an F-111 dump and burn. Hawk and Hercules
aircraft will be on the ground as a static display for visitors
to look over.
Also planned is an airfield defence display, a precision drill
display by the Federation Guard and a rescue display.
Air Force military working dogs will be on hand and vocalists
from the Air Command Band will sing recitals. The base will be
open from 10.30am to 5pm.
