AIR
Force rugby union players have been officially recognised for
their achievement in representing the Air Force at the national
level.
All players who represented Air Force in rugby union have been
presented with certificates recognising their representative
achievements.
AIRMSHL Houston said he was very pleased with this initiative
by Air Force Rugby and hoped that other sports would follow the
lead in ensuring that their members were appropriately acknowledged.
In an open letter to all players CAF Air Marshal Angus Houston
said he was immensely proud of the effort the players had shown
during the 2004 season, particularly “the close teamwork displayed
both on and off the field.”
He said he looked forward to the support of all commanding officers to ensure that people had every opportunity to represent
Air Force at the highest sporting levels and get the recognition
they deserve.
CAF recently made significant changes to the structure and management
of Air Force sport to encourage a fitter and more cohesive workforce.
The Air Force Sports Council also encourages participation.
