Sports Billboard

Running
The ADF marathon championships will be held August 1 in conjunction with the Townsville Marathon.
The Sydney City to Surf Fun Run will be held on August 8. Further information: Captain Frank Kresse (03) 9282 6020.
ADF members running in the City to Surf on August 8 are encouraged to help out the SIDS and Kids organisation by running as part of “Team Ben and ADF running for SIDS and Kids”.

Skiing/Snowboarders
The 2004 Air Force Alpine Sports Association championships will be held at Mount Hotham, Victoria, from August 1-8 in lead up to the ADF inter-service competition.
All levels of downhill skiers and snowboarders will be catered for.

Lawn Bowls
The WA Interservice Lawn Bowls will be held on August 4. Further information: Corporal Williams (08) 9571 7641.
Defence lawn bowlers are invited to participate in the 2004 inter-service lawn bowls competition on August 19 and 20 at the West Deakin Hellenic Bowling Club, Kent Street, Deakin, ACT.
The competition is open to ADF permanent and Reserve members.
Cost $15 for green fees and light refreshments. Training at the club on Wednesday afternoons from 1.30pm.

Basketball
The 2004 ACT/Wagga inter-service basketball competition will be held from August 13-15 at the RMC gymnasium.
Any Air Force personnel interested in participating as players, coaches or referees should contact Warrant Officer Ray Bennell (02) 6266 7768, Flight Sergeant Donna Puglisi (02) 6266 1761 Corporal Ken Robertson (02) 693 74121.
Training sessions will be held at the RMC Gym on August 1 and 8 from 10am to midday. All players, coaches and support staff competing may win selection in the ACT combined Services team to take part at the ADFBA national championships in November.
The WA Interservice championships will be held at RAAF Base Pearce on September 22. Further information Corporal Williams (08) 9571 7641.

Squash
ADF Squash invites squash players of all levels to participate at the ADF National Championship to be held at RAAF Williamtown from August 13-16.
The competition comprises the mens’ and womens’ open and graded championships, mixed masters and doubles events and the annual national interservice championship.
Squad selections for the ADF Squash Team’s tour of New Zealand in October will be made at the carnival.

Volleyball
WA inter-service volleyball will be held at HMAS Stirling on August 18. Further information: Corporal Williams (08) 9571 7641.
The 2004 ADFVA national championships will be held in Brisbane November 13-21. Beach volleyball will be held at Strathpine Beach Volleyball Centre and the indoor volleyball will be held at Boondall.

Netball
The 2004 ACT/Wagga inter-service netball competition will be held from August 20 at the ADFA indoor sports centre.

All players, coaches and support staff competing may win selection in the ACT combined Services team competing at the AF National in Brisbane from October 17-23.
Rugby League
RAN Rugby League is looking for players for the upcoming World Masters Games from November 6-13 on the Gold Coast.
There will be two sides entered in a nine-a-side team for 30-40 year olds and a team in the over 35s in the normal 13-a-side format with a social competitive level.

Kayaking
Expressions of interest are sought for a sea kayak adventurous training expedition from January 7 - 16, 2005.
Exercise Tasman Advance 05 will be conducted in Australian waters by the Australian Whitewater Association.
