Praise
for the ties that bind
NSW
Parliament might seem an unusual place to connect a humble necktie
and the services rendered by an Air Force squadron.
Ms Peta Seaton, Member for Southern Highlands, gave a speech to
the NSW Legislative Assembly on June 3 recognising No. 77 Squadron.
The trigger for the statement was a new 77SQN tie, the brainchild
of former COs Wing Commander Dick Cresswell, DFC, and Wing Commander
Bruce Brown, DFC.
“The significance of the tie lies in its purpose as a focus to
direct the attention of current and future generations of young
men and women to a tradition of hard work, sacrifice and unselfish dedication that is embodied in the operational history of No.
77 Squadron,” said Ms Seaton said, the daughter of a 77SQN veteran.
