CPL George Mitcallef

CPL George Micallef

THE winner of the 2003 RAAF Radar Association’s Pither Trophy is Corporal George Micallef.

CPL Micallef, of Combat Support Unit, RAAF Base Pearce, received the award and a $200 cheque from the RAAF Radar Association for his outstanding work in modifying the power supplies to Link- 11, communications, simulator, maintenance stores and operations cabins while posted at No. 114 Mobile Control and Reporting Unit, RAAF Base Darwin.

Group Captain Ken Watson, OC 41WG, presented CPL Micallef with the Pither Trophy and cheque at a ceremony at Pearce.

The trophy is named after Air Commodore A.G. Pither, CBE (ret’d), the “Father of Air Force Radar”. It is awarded annually to the airman/woman for the most positive contribution in support of 41WG activities.
