For
exceptional performance in the conduct of warlike operations as
the Commander Joint Task Force 633 and the Australian National
Headquarters, Middle East Area of Operations during Operations
Falconer and Catalyst.
AIRCDRE
Bentley’s performance in warlike operations as the Commander of
Joint Task Force 633 was exceptional. His calm manner, strong
work ethic and clear focus on the safety and morale of his officers,
sailors, soldiers, airmen and women won their respect, loyalty
and support.
He demonstrated selfless dedication, inspirational leadership
and astute command skills, and has set the conditions for a successful
continuing contribution by Australia to the Middle East Area of
Operations. AIRCDRE Bentley’s performance is in the finest traditions
of the Air Force and the ADF.
Warrant Officer of the Air Force Peter Michael HALL
For
exceptional service in the field of airman leadership and trade
training and enhancing engineering quality standards.
WOFF
Hall is an outstanding airman who has displayed exceptional leadership,
superior personal qualities and exemplary service attitude during
a period of considerable workload over several vastly different
postings.
He was instrumental in the endorsement as a Quality Endorsed Training
Organisation and the winning of the Markowski Cup for Airman Leadership
Flight when he was the Officer-in-Charge.
He was also instrumental in gaining endorsement as an Authorised
Maintenance Organisation and winning the Air Force Maintenance
Trophy for No. 2 Operational Conversion Unit when he was the WOFF
Engineer.

Commander Anthony Dibdin CHECKER
For
meritorious performance of duty as the Senior Armament Test Engineer
with the Aircraft Stores Compatibility Engineering Agency and
the Fighter Weapons Systems Liaison Officer at the Aircraft Research
and Development Unit.
For
outstanding contribution to F/A-18 aircraft stores clearance and
flight test activities, which have provided invaluable future
direction for all armament test activity and have significantly
enhanced the ADF’s fighter and strike air power capability.
Through his application, enthusiasm, professionalism, inspirational
leadership, capacities to shoulder demanding workloads, and loyalty
and devotion to duty, he inspired his personnel and colleagues
to achieve first class outcomes.
Warrant Officer Michael Godfrey DORING
For
outstanding service in the performance of duty as Squadron Warrant
Officer at Defence National Storage and Distribution Centre, Williamtown.
WOFF Doring has set an outstanding example of conscientious and
devoted service to the ADF. He has contributed enormously to the
outstanding performance of Defence National Storage and Distribution
Centre, Williamtown, and to its logistics support to operations.
He has also selflessly dedicated his efforts to leading and developing
his staff. An exemplary airman who accepts responsibility with
humility, diligence and loyalty beyond the call of duty.
Wing Commander Anthony Marc FORESTIER
For
meritorious service developing ADF doctrine and as Commanding
Officer of the School of Air Navigation.
WGCDR
Forestier is an exceptional officer who has achieved extraordinary
outcomes in aerospace doctrine development and navigator training
through his personal effort, example and intellectual rigour.
His work has been fundamental to the ADF’s strategic planning
and development and has ensured the good health of the School
of Air Navigation and the navigator training program.
Flight Lieutenant Christopher William MURDOCK
For
outstanding service in the development and management of Air Force
Personnel Management Information Systems.

Murdock has consistently demonstrated outstanding commitment to
the development and management of the personnel management information
systems used by the Air Force. His exceptional dedication, ability,
leadership and energy have resulted in significant productivity
and capability improvements in the use of information systems
to manage Air Force personnel.

Air Traffic Control Officer in Task Unit 633.4.2 during Operations

Breckenridge has been an outstanding example of leadership, determination,
endurance, and persistence in finding solutions for current air
operations, and the future of air space management over Iraq.
He was instrumental in promoting the exceptional ADF reputation,
providing pivotal advice on the air space reconstitution plan
and demonstrating considerable innovation, lateral thought, and
dogged determination to overcome all obstacles in providing safe
and efficient air traffic control at Baghdad International Airport.
WGCDR Breckenridge’s achievements are of the highest order and
are in keeping with the finest traditions of the Air Force and
the ADF.
Group Captain Christopher Joseph McHUGH, CSC
For
distinguished performance of duties in warlike operations as the
Chief Projects and Operations for the Coalition Provisional Authority,
South Central region of Iraq during Operations Falconer and Catalyst.
GPCAPT
McHugh distinguished himself through exceptional service to the
peoples of Iraq. He exhibited superior leadership, outstanding
professional competence and extraordinary foresight in addressing
a broad range of complex project management issues.
His innovative leadership and analytical efforts resulted in significant
and enduring contributions to the Authority’s mission. GPCAPT
McHugh’s distinguished achievements in this high threat combat
environment are of the highest order and are in keeping with the
finest traditions of the Air Force and the ADF.
Squadron Leader Ralph Gerhard STRECKER
For
distinguished performance in warlike operations as the Senior
Intelligence Officer in Task Group 633.4 during Operations Falconer
and Catalyst.
SQNLDR
Strecker’s outstanding contribution to the development of an informed
air intelligence picture aided the coalition situational awareness
and significantly assisted the operational appreciation process
in the stabilisation and reconstruction of Iraq.
SQNLDR Strecker’s distinguished performance was vital in the development
of higher-level intelligence briefings, group level concepts of
operations and risk management plans for aircraft operations and
force protection. SQNLDR Strecker’s achievements were of the highest
order and in keeping with the finest traditions of the Air Force
and the ADF.

Captain Terence William CONNOLLY
For
outstanding achievement in management and implementation of improved
logistics information as the Director, Supply Chain Systems Program
Office.
GPCAPT
Connolly is an exceptional officer, displaying consistent devotion
to duty, outstanding management and leadership skills and expertise
in the field of logistics information systems.
He has been a driving force in the development and implementation
of improvements to the ADF’s logistics information systems, in
particular, the successful delivery of the upgrade of the Standard
Defence Supply System that affects 14,000 users over 180 establishments
across Australia and in deployed operational centres in East Timor,
Afghanistan and Iraq.
GPCAPT Connolly’s devotion to duty and loyalty to Defence is inspirational
to his subordinates, his peers and his superiors in the three
Services and the Australian Public Service.
Wing Commander Alan David HOLTFRETER
For
outstanding achievement as Staff Officer Capability Management,
Headquarters Surveillance and Control Group.
WGCDR
Holtfreter, as the Staff Officer Capability Management, has made
an outstanding contribution to capability management within Surveillance
and Control Group.
He has shown immense skill, determination and outstanding dedication
in introducing the Group’s risk management processes, developing
and implementing the airworthiness certification processes, and
in developing the operational concept document.
His exceptional efforts have very significantly improved the management
of Surveillance and Control Group. WGCDR Holtfreter’s outstanding
achievements are in the finest traditions of the Air Force.
Wing Commander Stephen John OSBORNE
For
outstanding achievement as Commanding Officer of No. 292 Squadron,
in particular the transition of the 92 Wing core training capability
to the updated AP-3C Orion Weapon System.
An
exceptional officer displaying inspirational leadership and outstanding
judgement and dedication during both the transition of No. 92
Wing’s core training capability to the updated AP-3C Orion Weapon
System and the redevelopment of the Airborne Electronic Analyst
ab-initio training program.
Leading by example, WGCDR Osborne’s proactive efforts have established
a comprehensive training system that will help ensure No. 92 Wing
continues to meet its long-term operational commitments.
WGCDR Osborne’s exemplary performance brings great credit on himself,
his unit and No. 92 Wing and is in the finest traditions of the
Air Force.

For
outstanding achievement as Deputy Director Airworthiness Coordination
and Policy Agency, ADF.
WGCDR
Roberts is an exceptional officer whose achievements and inspirational
devotion to duty ensured a consistently high level of performance
by her agency in its role of maintaining and developing airworthiness
standards and policy for the ADF’s range of aircraft and unmanned
aerial vehicles.
Her efforts have contributed significantly to the maintenance
and introduction of aviation-based capabilities in the ADF. WGCDR
Roberts’ exceptional achievements in this field serve as a model
for all.
Squadron Leader David Ian SHEPHERD
For
outstanding achievement as the Air Traffic Control Tactical Operations
Officer, Headquarters No. 44 Wing, particularly in the provision
of air traffic control services in Baghdad, Iraq during Operation
Catalyst.
SQNDLR
Shepherd has displayed outstanding leadership and professionalism
in his oversight of the readiness and training in air traffic
control tactical operations within No. 44 Wing.
His peerless planning ability and selfless dedication to his duties
has ensured that a qualified and prepared air traffic control
capability has been available to the ADF to support coalition
operations at Baghdad International Airport during Operation Catalyst.
SQNLDR Shepherd’s outstanding achievements are in the finest traditions
of the Air Force.
Squadron Leader Adam David WILLIAMS
For
outstanding achievement during operations as the Commander of
Task Force 636.2 during Operation Anode.

Williams’ performance as the Commander of Task Group 636.2 was
outstanding. His calm manner, strong work ethic and clear focus
on the tasks at hand, coupled with his concern for the morale
and welfare of his Task Force, won their respect, loyalty and
support.
He demonstrated selfless dedication, strong leadership and astute
command skills, and has contributed significantly to setting the
conditions for a successful continuing contribution by Australia
to the Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands.

Flight Lieutenant Jason Andrew BEGLEY
For
outstanding service as the Unit Training Officer at Development
Flight, No. 92 Wing, particularly in support of operational capability.
FLTLT
Begley successfully introduced new training schemes for several
aircrew categories, despite severe time and workload constraints,
thereby ensuring the unit was able to meet its tasking operational
commitments.
Also, he was responsible for organising and managing successful
airborne test programs for the rectification of critical aircraft
sensor systems and for the introduction of new satellite communications
equipment.
FLTLT Begley’s efforts were vital to maintaining operational capability
and were in accordance with the highest standards of Air Force
service.
Flight Sergeant Stephen Michael HOY
For outstanding service to the Air Force in the field of Technical
Training, particularly in the field of Aircraft Battle Damage
Repair capability.
FSGT
Hoy has been instrumental in the development of technical training
and facilities for the rapid repair of aircraft damaged in battle
situations. This capability has the potential to dramatically
enhance the sustainability of military aircraft during operations
and benefits all aviation elements of the ADF.
FSGT Hoy has demonstrated exceptional technical skill, devotion
to duty and resourcefulness that has far exceeded his brief as
an instructor, and which is in the finest traditions of the Air
Force.
Sergeant Bruce Gordon LANGHAM
For
outstanding service as an Aircraft Technician employed in the
maintenance of F/A-18 aircraft at No. 3 Squadron.
SGT
Langham has demonstrated outstanding performance in a wide variety
of duties over more than 19 years of dedicated service. His personal
efforts whilst at No. 3 Squadron Engine Maintenance Section have
directly contributed to increasing serviceability of Hornet Alternate
Mission Equipment and engines.
SGT Langham’s actions have significantly enhanced the capability
of Air Combat Group, and reflected great credit on the Air Force.
Sergeant Bradley Wayne MAGUIRE
For
outstanding service as an Aircraft Structures Courseware Developer,
Air Force School of Technical Training.
