Air Power Course.

The
RAAF School of Postgraduate Studies (RAAFSPS) is an Air Force
training establishment like no other.
RAAFSPS provides leadership training at all levels and paves the
way for new ideas and concepts.
This was certainly the case recently when an RAAFSPS staff member
became the first airman to complete the Advanced Air Power Course
conducted through the Air Power Development Centre.
Warrant Officer Steve Weiderman received a distinction for the
15-week 02/03 Advanced Aerospace Power Course, conducted at Masters
level of university study.
It consists of online study that involves analysing air/aerospace
power doctrine and strategy through historical, theoretical, technological
and cultural developments last century. The course also involves
hypothesising on possible trends in air/aerospace power issues.
Course participants are required to submit weekly assignments.
The course’s academic supervisor, Professor John McCarthy, said
WOFF Weiderman demonstrated an in-depth air power knowledge before
the course and was able to think conceptually about air power.
CO RAAFSPS Wing Commander Bob Rodgers said, “WOFF Weiderman’s
professionalism and dedication has led to the creation of a new
and ongoing opportunity for the professional development of airmen
at RAAFSPS and the Air Force at large.”
WOFF Weiderman said that the course was a challenge, but rewarding
and, from an airman’s perspective, worthwhile.
