Pinning them down

AIR Force skittled their opponents at the recent NSW Interservice Tenpin Bowling Competition. The Air Force team played many big games and by the end of the ninth game were 287 pins in front of the Navy.

They eventually won the competition with a total of 19,046 pins. Second was the Navy with 18,759 pins and third was the Army with 15,367 pins. Leading Aircraftman Mick Walker was named the Best and Fairest for the tournament with an average of 213 over the nine games.

The competition was held at Castle Hill Tenpin Bowling Centre on May 7 and started well with several bowlers bowling 200+ games. By the end of the fourth game it was very close with the Navy on 2142 pins, the Air Force on 2124 pins and the Army struggling on 1777 pins.

The two highest average players from each services trails/selections were automatically selected in the NSW side to contest the ADF titles. The top six average players on the day of the interservice were also selected in the NSW team.
