AN
AP-3C crew from No. 92 Wing has not just been active on operations
in the MEAO.
The crew has been active in raising funds for charity, beginning
when they were enjoying a few beers just before their threemonth
deployment.
The engineer produced a set of clippers and reminded everyone
that it was the “World’s Greatest Shave for a Cure” day.
At the cost of around $50-100 a person, the whole crew and a number
of locals were soon sporting a number 0 haircut.
In the process a total of $815 was raised for the cause. Some
locals did manage to keep their hair, but not before departing
with a sizeable donation.
The crew also took part in the recent Relay for Life organised
by ECSS members deployed from RAAF Base Amberley to raise funds
for cancer research.
Among six teams that ran continuously for 18 hours, they raised
$1410 in the process. The total amount raised by all teams was
more than $8000.
The 92WG crew completed 448 laps of the course covering a total
of 192km.
One member commented, “That’s enough for the whole crew to not
have to do a PFT for the next six years!”
