FOR
the third year running, a team from AFHQ has put their hearts and
soles into the Cancer Councils 24-hour Relay for Life.
The team of 17 members all ran/walked, in a relay format, for a
minimum of two half-hour stints throughout the event at the Australian
Institute of Sport running track.
They raised $1200 in support of people with cancer.
CAF Air Marshal Angus Houston took time out of his busy schedule
to run an hour in what turned out to be the greatest accumulated
laps in one session by a team member.
A few members had to do two shifts as well as covering for a couple
of injuries during the 24-hour relay.
The weather could not have been better, which was a relief to the
members who participated in last years event in the rain.
Squadron Leader Tammy Hodge provided recovery massages to keep the
members moving.
Team members were: AIRMSHL Angus Houston, CPL Rob McManus, WOFF
Graeme Tingy, WGCDR Angela Rhodes, SGT Janelle Longley, SQNLDR Cheryl
Neal, Miss Erin Rinaldi, PLTOFF Mat Lewis, SQNLDR Sue McGready,
Miss Grace Carlile, SQNLDR Andrew Ratz, SGT Phil Crome, SQNLDR Tim
Anderson, SQNLDR Richard Dyson, Mrs Celestine Dyson, SQNLDR Tammy
Hodge and PLTOFF Paul Longley.
