How to take ownership of PMKeyS data

THANKS to PMKeyS Self Service (PSS) anyone with access to a terminal on the Defence Restricted Network (DRN) can now look at their personal information held in PMKeyS through the DPE personnel portal or web page.

Everyone in Defence with an email address should have received their login and password to PSS. Feedback indicates PSS is being well received.

PSS provides ADF members with access to view their leave balance and history, individual readiness status, nominated family for leave travel, dependent/beneficiary details, employee preferences and restrictions (EPAR).

PSS includes a link to the necessary forms for correcting or changing this information through appropriate agencies if required.

Members can change their home address and emergency contact details online, which is updated immediately at the central PMKeyS database.

PSS will soon include online access to ADF Pay Advice (Salary Variation Advice) so members can check their pay details. Expansion of PSS functionality to include basic online annual leave application and manager approval using Work-Flow is under trial and is expected to be progressively rolled out this year.

PMKeyS is working towards providing a greatly improved reporting capability with data more readily available for
organisational resource planning, profiling and budgeting, enabling a more timely, comprehensive and consistent analysis than before.

Essential to this improved capability is flexibility for users through the Defweb. Whether using standard reports through the trial reporting solution (soon to be released on a limited basis) or management information (currently available), in the future users will be able to access all data via the same Defweb location as PSS. Users will also be able to choose and download the format of the data they require.

As with any information system, PMKeyS is reliant on the input of quality data that is correct and complete. The day-to-day professional work practices of all PMKeyS users has a significant and direct effect on data quality and the reports taken from PMKeyS.

Defence members can help maintain the integrity of the system by ensuring their personal records remain current, either online using PSS or via their orderly room or local personnel centre.

For ir Force-specific information about PMKeyS contact RAAF PMKeyS in the Directorate of Military Administration - Air Force on (02) 6266 3172 or visit the PMKeyS web site.
