Online learning system launched

A NEW online learning system for the Australian Defence Organisation (ADO) will deliver training and education to more than 90,000 military and civilian personnel.

The Defence Online Management and Instructional Network, known as DOMAIN, is available to all Defence personnel across Australia. It was launched in Sydney on March 19.

DOMAIN is a flexible e-learning system that uses leading edge web technologies to deliver learning materials to individuals, training centres and facilities, including those in rural and regional areas.

Some Defence personnel based overseas and Defence contractors working in Australia will be provided access to DOMAIN by mid-2004.

DOMAIN is one of the largest corporate e-learning system implementations undertaken in Australia.

Courses available on DOMAIN range from professional and business skills, to occupational health and safety, and equity and diversity. For details visit http://defweb.cbr.defence.gov.au/det/domain on the Defence intranet.
