Cricket
NAVY won the 2004 NSW Inter-Service Cricket Carnival with a win
and a draw. The results were: Navy nine for 248 from 50 overs
defeated Army all out for 188. Army two for 243 from 35 overs
defeated Air Force eight for 240 from 50 overs. The Navy versus
Air Force game was abandoned because of a wet pitch after overnight
rain prevented play.
Triathlon
THE RAAF Base Williamtown Multi-Sports Endurance Club (MSEC) will
be running its Charity Triathlon on March 19 at Port Stephens
with proceeds from the race going to Legacy Torchbearers. The
event is also the NSW ADF Triathlon Championship. It is open to
all Service members, their dependents, members of the NSW Police,
Fire and Ambulance Services, MSEC members, Tomaree Triathlon club
members and event sponsors. The event features two races, the
first consisting of a 500m swim, 15km ride and 5km run and the
second a 1km swim, 30km ride and 10km run. Both events are open

Sailing
THE Royal Australian Navy Sailing Association (RANSA) at Rushcutters
Bay is inviting all boat owners and anyone with an interest in
sailing to join in their Pirates Day on Sunday March 21.
Intended to raise funds for the Sir David Martin Foundation to
assist youth in crisis, the day offers nautical fun for everyone.
At least one boat is making the odyssey from Cronulla to participate.
The fun starts at 11.45am when boats rendezvous at RANSA. Boats
will get underway for nautical mayhem until a return to RANSA
for lunch (BYO) at 2.00pm. Events include Rescue the Wench, Treasure
Hunt and Tug O War. Pirate costume and language is encouraged.

Golf
THE 22nd Defence Force Cup Golf Championship will be played at
Wodonga Country Club and Thurgoona Golf Club on April 5 and 6.
The competition includes the RAAOC Golf Championships. The event
is open to all Defence personnel, including contract staff. Cost
is $45, including green fees, prizes and a BBQ. Further information
