THE 2004 ACT/SNSW Inter-service Tenpin Bowling Championships will be held on March 5.

The championships will comprise nine games, total pinfall, with the grand total of each Service deciding the winner. Individual scores from all nine games will be used to select the ACT Combined Services Team that will compete in the ADF National Tenpin Bowling Championships.

Team selection is open to all permanent, reserve and APS members.

Nominations close on February 27. For further information contact Flight Sergeant Paul Logan on (02) 6266 1679 or email Paul.Logan@defence.gov.au.

Charity triathlon

THE RAAF Base Williamtown Multi-Sports Endurance Club (MSEC) will run the RAAF Base Williamtown Charity Triathlon on March 19.

The triathlon is also the NSW ADF Triathlon Championship and proceeds from the race will be donated to Legacy Torchbearers.

The event is open to all Service members, their dependents, members of the NSW Police, Fire and Ambulance Services, MSEC members, Tomaree Triathlon Club members and event sponsors.

Two races will be run. The first features a 500m swim, 15km ride and 5km run and the second a 1km swim, 30km ride and 10km run. Both events are open to teams and individuals.

A unit trophy will be awarded based on the number of competitors as well as their places.

To ensure the successful running of the event, about 40 volunteers are also required on the day.
