THREE members of No. 25 (City of Perth) Squadron have been recognised for their outstanding Reserve service at a Defence Reserves Support Council function in Western Australia.

Warrant Officers Ronald Pease, and Hendrik Hurkens and Leading Aircraftman Vince Pedulla received plaques and certificates from the Governor of Western Australia, Lieutenant General John Sanderson, for the excellent work they have performed throughout 2003.

Citations read at the event highlighted the outstanding achievements of the three men and commended their commitment, unselfish attitude and dedication to duty.

The event also recognised 32 employers who have supported their Reserve employees with leave arrangements and other special considerations necessary for them to fulfil their Defence obligations.

Three of the employers, Western Australia Police Service, Mazenod College and Language Links, received additional recognition for their exceptional support and were awarded WA Employer of the Year in the categories of Government and Large Business, Private Enterprise Medium Business and Private Enterprise Small Business respectively.

DRSC-WA liaison officer Lieutenant Commander Michael Rock said a wide range of employers and individuals received awards for their continued support of Defence Force Reserves.

“Increasingly we are drawing on the skills, expertise and qualifications of Defence Reserves to support military operations. The support of employers is extremely important,” he said.
