Tindal Base Commander Group Captain Corrie Metz and Flight Lieutenant
Mick Perry, of No. 75 Squadron, with staff and students from
Katherine High Schools Intensive Learning Unit. The school
group toured a number of areas on the base, including the firefighting
section and the Military Working Dogs section. Judging
by the smiles, the highlight of the day was a close-up look
at an F/A-18.

324 Combat Support Squadron, with a Commanders Commendation.
The commendation, presented during AIRCDRE Camerons visit
to RMAF Butterworth, recognises FLTLT Browns outstanding
efforts during Operation Bali Assist. |

Butterworth. Honoured were FSGT Dicks who received the Conspicuous
Service Cross for outstanding achievement as the Air Forces
Senior Cookery Instructor at the ADF School of Catering at his
previous posting, and FSGT Moore, who was presented with the
Australian Service Medal Bougainville. |

Wing
Commander John Newman, Regional Manager CSI Central and Northern
NSW, is used to receiving visitors at RAAF Base Williamtown
but didnt know what to expect when his boss advised he
would be dropping by at short notice. Brigadier Mike Swan, Director
General Regions and Bases, CSIG, after several short executive
meetings, attended an afternoon tea where WGCDR Newman intended
to host a meet the masses function for the Brigadier.
Attention quickly turned to WGCDR Newman, to his surprise, as
BRIG Swan presented him with the First Clasp to his Defence
Force Service medal for 20 years of service.
