AVTS conducted a Trainee vs Staff sports challenge, featuring a round-robin of sports such as indoor soccer, “ring-the-stick” and beach volleyball.
The Williams team, consisting of ageing but experienced military and TAFE staff members, tied for victory with Spence, consisiting of youthful Air Force trainees, with four wins and a draw.
WOFF Absolon adjudicated and found that the staff had cheated by having an extra member for one of the indoor soccer games. Spence were declared the winners and their prize was to run the morning muster parades for the following week. As a punishment, staff were inspected as a flight each day.
