Toll-free mental health line for ADF

THE ADF has a new toll-free call line to help deal with mental health issues and connect callers to immediate help and support in their local area.

The confidential support line is available 24 hours day, seven days a week to ADF members and their families, with access for members posted overseas.

The call line has the capacity to respond to individuals in crisis by giving them an initial assessment of their problem and an immediate intervention if this is necessary, before referring them to ADF-provided mental health support or civilian mental health support where required.

McKesson Asia Pacific has been contracted to the call centre service, employing professionals including nurses, psychologists and social workers as their operators. The ADF Mental Health Support Service can be contacted on 1800 628 036.
