Nothing but Net for Aussie rulers

By Jo Button

AIR Force members interested in Aussie rules will benefit from the launch of the new Defence Aussie rules Intranet site providing access to information for members.

Defence Aussie rules is the first ADF sport to have its official site approved on the Defence Intranet.

This initiative of the Australian Services Australian Football Association (ASAFA) seizes the opportunities offered by web-based technologies.

The site offers photographs of previous Defence matches, photographs and details of ADF umpires and coaches, details on ASAFA members and positions vacant, messages from the patrons of ASAFA and women’s football and the ASAFA strategic plan 2003 to 2007.

In order for this site to evolve and progressively offer more information and services relating to Defence Aussie rules, contributions from Defence members are invited.

To that end the association is seeking information on the history of Aussie rules in the ADF. Defence Aussie rules can be found at http://intranet.defence.gov.au/armyweb/sites/ASAFA/
