Personnel
Branch acts as the advocate for personnel at the higher decisionmaking
levels of Defence
THE
Air Force Vision recognises that people are a primary capability.
One of the strategic themes of the RAAF Personnel Management Strategy
is to provide an advocate for the people element of capability.
The Air Force recognises that a wide range of factors influence
our capacity and willingness to perform our duties.
Some of these are work-related factors, while others are more
personal and include locational stability, children’s education,
spouse employment and work/life balance.
Both work-related and personal factors are given timely consideration
and due weight in Air Force’s and Defence’s capability decisions
through Air Force Personnel Branch acting as the advocate for
personnel at the higher decision-making levels of Defence.
To ensure the people element is considered in capability decisions,
the Director General Personnel - Air Force (DGPERS-AF) is a member
of the major capability committees in Air Force, including CAF
Advisory Committee, Air Force Capability Committee, and the RAAF
Safety Board.
At the tri-service level, DGPERS-AF represents Air Force’s interests
at the Personnel Steering Group. DGPERS-AF’s advocacy role at
these committees ensures the interests of Air Force people are
appropriately represented at highest levels.
