One
could argue at the direct relation to being an Aussie and
loving a beer. In fact "beer o'clock" is well known
to be an exact measure of both thirst and time.
Beer:
Slabs, Stubbies and Six-Packs is a guide for beer lovers everywhere.
The
book explains beer styles, ingredients, how beer is made,
the different glass sizes in each of our States - those of
you who have been met with blank looks when asking for a "pot
of beer, thanks" after moving interstate will know what
I mean, as well as a guide to more than 100 beers, local and
imported. It even has a section on weirdo beers.
This
is a light-hearted yet seriously good look at the amber ale
that is enjoyed by so many. It is humorous though it does
cover so many beers in such detail that it is obvious the
authors are passionate about the drink and serious about their
writing.
There
is even a glossary of beer terms in the back of the book which
only an Aussie could truly appreciate - "Six-Pack: a
portable pack of beer which helps you leave work behind yet
still embrace home life".
For
the beer-loving person in all of us.
