Basketball
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Australian Defence
Force Basketball Association (ADFBA) as an accredited sporting
association. To celebrate the milestone the patron, Rear Admiral
Raydon Gates and president Colonel Tony Cotton extend a cordial
invitation to all former participants, competitors and officials
alike, to attend this years championship in Sydney from
October 19-25, culminating in a gala ball reunion on October 25.

Cricket
Air Force will look to defend its National ADF Cricket title at
the 2003 inter-service championships in Brisbane from November
16-21. Navy, Army and Air Force will lock horns from November
16-18, followed by a selected ADF side to play the Queensland
under-19s on November 20-21.
Fishing
The annual ADF Interservice Fishing Championship will be held
from October 17-19 out of Darwin. Further details from the website

Hockey
The 9th Australian Masters Games is to be held in Canberra from
October 31 - November 9, with the ADF Hockey Association entering
teams again this year. The major requirement for entry is to be
old enough, and for hockey this is 30 years of age at December
31, 2003. Detailed information is available from the website at

Running
This years Bonshaw Cup will be held on Wednesday, November
19 at HMAS Harman. After a successful day last year, this year
promises to be huge, with twice as many competitors anticipated
to compete in the 6km run or walk events. The event is open to
all ADF personnel including Defence civilians and local Canberra
Athletics Clubs. So, pen the date into your diaries, start training
and see you on the 19th at Harman. See your local PTIs for entry

RAAF Rugby League
CAF has recently agreed the establishment of RAAF Rugby League
(RAAFRL) as an Air Force sports association. RAAF will host the
2004 interservice carnival at Williamtown and CAF has set RAAFRL
the task of winning. All current players and anyone interested
in rugby league are asked to look at the new intranet website:

Shooting
The Canberra District Army Rifle Association presents two upcoming
events. The Canberra Triple Range event is on October 18 at the
McIntosh Range, followed by the Applied Marksmanship Practice
on October 19 at the Majura Range complex. Prizes will be awarded

Softball
The ADF Softball Association will hold its 2003 national championships
from November 10-14 at Georges River Softball Association grounds
(accommodation at Holsworthy Barracks). National mens and
womens teams will be selected for a tour to New Zealand

Volleyball
The ADF Combined Services Volleyball tournament will be held at
Albury/Wodonga from November 7-16. The tournament is open to regular,
