Badges get a new look

THE shape and design of the Parachutist and Skill at Arms badges have been changed.

The new embellishment features an oval enclosing either the parachute or crossed rifles.

Both badges are available in Air Force blue material and are the only ones permitted to be worn by qualified members on any service dress version of the new uniform. A white, bullion Skill at Arms badge has also been produced and it is the only one allowed to be worn with summer mess jacket.

Joint Materiel Agency is developing the following new versions of the two insignia:

Khaki Parachutist and Skill at Arms for wear on drab uniforms;
Bullion/Air Force blue Parachutist and Skill at Arms for wear on winter mess jacket; and
Bullion/white Parachutist for wear on summer mess jacket.

Until these items are available, qualified members may wear the old-style badges.
