TWO Physical Training Instructors at RAAF Base Tindal coordinated and conducted a military Physical Training (PT) display at the recent annual Katherine show.

Sergeant Steve Weaver and Corporal Tony Green put together the display to give the public an understanding of the types of PT members at the base undertake on a weekly basis.

The main focus of PT at Tindal is on operational fitness, delivered through a variety of lessons based around simulating the deployed field environment and some less strenuous lessons similar to civilian fitness classes.

During the display the PTIs put a team of Defence personnel through their paces in a modified obstacle course, conducted a military lifting class with large logs, demonstrated some unarmed combat techniques they also completed a circuit class which was more aligned to a civilian fitness class.

Without a doubt one of the most spectacular displays was that of the truck exit. The display was very well received with many positive comments coming from the public at the conclusion of the display.

The PTIs would like to thank all those that volunteered their time to perform in the team.
