Space work rewarded

Wing Commander Peter Pollock.
Wing Commander Peter Pollock.
WHILE not quite rocket science, an Air Force officer’s contribution in the area of space-related activities has earned him a CDF commendation.

Wing Commander Peter Pollock received the commendation for exemplary performance as Deputy Director, Defence Space Engagement between May 2001 and July 2002.

Now with the ADF Warfare Centre at RAAF Base Williamtown, WGCDR Pollock was praised for his “management, administrative, professional engineering and interpersonal relationship skills of the highest order”

Within weeks of beginning his assignment he represented Defence in a series of negotiations that required a sound knowledge of space technology with Russian Federation representatives.

He also successfully managed the inaugural Defence Space Engagement and Capability Seminar; conceived and implemented a valuable and well-regarded space training course now offered throughout Australia; and consistently provided accurate and timely technical advice.
