Group
takes to Indonesian aerospace
MORE
than 700 members of the Indonesian Air Force (TNI-AU), including
their Chief, Marsekal (Air Chief Marshal) TNI Chappy Hakim (KASAU),
had the opportunity to hear about the RAAFs doctrine on aerospace
power and other related subjects.
The visit was part of the regional engagement program between Australia
and Indonesia, designed to foster increased dialogue and understanding
between their respective air forces.
A team from the RAAF Aerospace Centre led by the director, Group
Captain Ric Casagrande, travelled to Indonesia in late May 2003
and gave presentations on topics such as the history of air power,
air law, aerospace power and technology, and the future of aerospace
power.
The presentations included an update of the RAAFs aerospace
power doctrine Fundamentals of Australian Aerospace Power that was
released last year.
The presentations were delivered to the Air Power Club of Indonesia,
their Basic Staff Course, Command and Staff College and Air Force
Academy located in western and central Java.
The team received a warm and welcoming reception from all these
organisations that expressed great interest in the Australian approach
to aerospace power.
