WHAT
are your thoughts about ADF alcohol treatment?
Members, commanders, and health and welfare personnel are being
asked for feedback about the ADFs alcohol treatment service
at the Alcohol Rehabilitation and Education Program (AREP) at
RAAF Base Richmond.
AREP is one of the most significant commitments made by the ADF
to respond to the needs of people with alcohol problems.
The Australian Centre for Post-traumatic Mental Health (ACPMH),
University of Melbourne is reviewing AREP from July to October
and is seeking ADF members views, experiences and opinions
about the value and future directions for the service.
The ADF is aiming to improve its alcohol services to contribute
to a safer and healthier environment for members.
Unsafe alcohol use is a problem within society and the ADF recognises
that it has a duty of care to ensure the safety of its members.
The review will aim to answer the following questions:
- l
How widely known is the AREP service?
- l
How well can members access the service?
- l
Do members find the service acceptable to them?
- l
Are members who attend AREP treated with dignity and with effective
treatments?
- l
How well does AREP communicate and work with the rest of the
ADF?
- l
How do members perform after receiving alcohol treatment?
Air
Force members are encouraged to contribute their views. Contact
