RAAF Base Edinburgh’s WOD, Warrant Officer Rob Eley, may have the loudest voice on base, but was outdone by members of Combat Support Unit – Edinburgh’s RAAF Security Police Section – who wore their loudest shirts to celebrate Loud Shirt Day on June 13.

Shirts of blinding colour and design that would normally be banished or worn on north Queensland’s tropical Fridays, provided a stunning sight as personnel raised funds to help Adelaide’s Cora Barclay Centre.

The funds raised will go towards promoting awareness of ch
ildhood hearing and deafness issues, their impact on the community and the vital role of the centre.

The Cora Barclay Centre gives hearing-impaired children the chance to learn to talk.

Critical to the success of the programs is a high level of individual attention each child receives.

The centre has been helping deaf and hearing-impaired children become a part of the community for more that 57 years, some of whom have been military families.

The base raised almost $1000 on the day.
