Korean War recalled
RAAF Base Williamtown will mark the 50th anniversary of the ceasefire
in the Korean War with a ceremonial parade and the official unveiling
of the RAAF Korean War Honour Board on July 25; a reunion and
social function on July 25-26; and a commemorative service on
July 27. Ex-members of No. 77 Squadron, surviving RAF and RAAF
Korean War veterans and families including the members of Nos.
30 Communications Unit (later No. 36 Squadron), 391 Base Squadron
and 491 Maintenance Squadron, members of the 77SQN Association
and families, members of the Fighter Squadrons Branch of the RAAF
Association and families, and the families of Air Force people
who lost their lives during the conflict are invited to attend.

RAAF Communicators
THE RAAF Communicators Reunion 2003 for operators, technicians
and officers will be held at the Canberra Club, ACT, on November
22 from 11am, with lunch at 12.30pm. The cost is $25. A pre-reunion
get together will take place at the same venue on November 21

Warfighting seminar
THE Rowell Advanced Warfighting Seminar will be held at the Australian
Defence Force Academy on July 17 from 8.45am-5pm. The theme is
Making Future Warriors: Developing an Australian Concept of Advanced
Warfighting. The seminar aims to stimulate thought and debate
on the professional military education of officers on the subject
of advanced warfighting, and will draw heavily on recent and contemporary
US experience. It will include a series of central presentations,
an open forum and a cocktail hour. The cost is $250 a person (or

Central Band
July 6: The Ceremonial Band will perform at Reserve Forces Day
at Melbourne CBD at 11.30am.
July 12: The Ceremonial Band will play at the AAFC Freedom of
Entry at Adelaide CBD at 2pm.

Air Command Band
July 11: The Russell Offices Winter Ball will be in full swing
to the music of the Big Band from 7:30pm.
July 25: The Parade Band will support a No. 77 Squadron parade
in Williamtown. The clarinet quartet will play for a dinner function
later in the day to celebrate the parade.
July 29: The Big Band will perform for high school music students
at the NSW Education Music Camp at Stanwell Tops.
July 31: The Concert Band will continue its Midday Music Series
at the St Andrews Cathedral.
