New badge now on offer

Chief of Air Force Air Marshal Angus Houston has approved the introduction of a new, official Air Force name badge.

It has a silver background with blue lettering and the Air Force crest engraved, also in blue, on the right-hand side.
Personnel will have both their first name and surname shown on the badge.

Members will be permitted to wear the previously issued silver badge for the foreseeable future.

New entrants will be issued with this item as part of their initial kitting process. Serving members can obtain the item,
if they wish, through purchase from clothing stores for $4.95.

The policy relating to unit name badges, as contained in chapter two of the Dress Manual, remains unchanged.
