THE “full house” sign is almost up on the new Building 861 at RAAF Base Amberley with 170 of the 177 seats now filled by workers.

As the logistics authority for all F-111 weapons and systems contracts, the Strike Recconnaisance System Program Office (SRSPO) has come a long way since establishment of the new location in December 2000.

A temporary set-up in Hangar 410 allowed a smooth transition on March 10 this year, with positive comments coming from various parts of government on the purpose-built facility.

Many elements of DMO have merged under the one roof where all contracted work is managed for whole of life support.

“This building should certainly see out the life of the F-111s and many other aircraft down the track,” said Facility Coordination and Unit Security Officer Peter Fredricks.
