Senior
airmans view
Having
spent a number of years providing leadership experience to airmen
and airwomen in an instructional capacity, and now as Warrant Officer
of the RAAF, Warrant Officer Peter Hall knows the importance of
providing direction for people.
Many people may feel that the Vision is something that just
sits on the wall. But this Vision clearly provides a sense of purpose.
It reinforces what we are already doing, but it also tells us the
things we need to focus on, he said.
We are an expeditionary force in that each of us must be prepared
to travel away from our home base to deliver our technical skill.
We are expected to respond quickly to the objectives given
to us, and we are expected to work closely with our partners, not
only in other parts of Defence, but from other nations.
He said that Air Force people had been exceptionally busy in recent
times and it was important that we all have time to reflect
on where we are going.
This Vision is not about us being an aggressive force. It
is about us being ready to respond to the challenges that confront
us, WOFF Hall said.
The Air Force is well respected and is regarded as being a
high technology force. But people make technology work; people use
their initiative and creativity to give us the edge. It is this
that makes us the professional force for the future.
