Directorate makes move

THE move by the Directorate of Honours and Awards from three separate locations to a new collocated office in Canberra provides an important opportunity to achieve efficiencies in the issuing of medals.

The previous physical dislocation made it difficult for the directorate to streamline the medals process, but the collation will, over time, reduce application backlogs.

As well as issuing medals to all serving and former ADF members, the directorate develops and implements policy concerning Defence Honours and Awards, and processes half yearly and operational honours lists, CDF, Service Chief and formation commander commendations, and civilian awards within Defence.
