25SQN team shows skills

NO. 25 (City of Perth) Squadron’s Engineering Flight prepared and serviced three No. 79 Squadron Hawk 127 aircraft involved in aerobatic and static displays at the recent Busselton Aero Club Airshow 2003 which commemorated 100 years of powered flight.

It was the first time a team from the squadron has worked on an operational aircraft since the grounding of the Macchi in March 2001.

25SQN has five technicians trained to flightline servicings and replenishment standards. They are Sergeant Mark Richards and Corporals Dan Falzon, Brad Hilton, Matt Kelley and Peter Tippins.

Assisted by three 79SQN personnel, their contribution in launching the Hawks for the airshow reduced the manpower demand on 79SQN technical personnel for working both at Busselton and RAAF Base Pearce.

Further experience on aircraft will allow 25SQN personnel to carry out tasks without assistance from 79SQN in future.
The exercise provided valuable hands-on experience for which 25SQN has been working and training.
