LEGACY
coordinating council chairman Ray Ward has spent three days in
East Timor visiting Australian Defence Force people near the West
Timor border.
The
visit was designed to highlight the ongoing relationship between
Legacy and the ADF, which has spanned 80 years.
Legacy celebrates its 80th year of service to the Australian community
in 2003.
The
organisation provides a unique service, caring for more than 135,000
widows, children and special needs dependants of deceased veterans
of war and peacekeeping operations.
During
his stay, Mr Ward visited Defence headquarters in Dili where he
spoke to senior Defence officials.
