A change of identity discs

NEW entrants to the Air Force are being issued with a new type of identity disc.

The change follows the introduction of PMkeys numbers and advice from specialist sources that embossing of personal details on identity discs, rather than engraving, was the preferred option.

There is no need for serving personnel to change over to the new style item unless they are about to deploy to operational areas, in which case arrangements will be made by the unit concerned for a free issue.

Those wishing to acquire the new-style disc on a repayment basis can do so through local clothing stores.
DI (AF) Admin 11-1 was recently amended to reflect the new policy.
