Census will be far reaching

AIR Force personnel deployed overseas will be included in the Defence Census on Tuesday, March 18.

In a joint statement, CDF General Peter Cosgrove and Secretary Ric Smith said the Census would “reach all personnel in Australia, those deployed on operations, United Nations deployments ... on exchange duty overseas or posted to embassies and high commissions”.

They said that although completion of the Census questionnaires was voluntary, it was important that the maximum response rate was achieved to ensure the viability and accuracy of the data.

The results will be used to improve conditions of service and the overall lifestyle of Defence personnel by providing an accurate demographic profile of our people.

Distribution to full-time personnel will be through Unit Census Coordinators. Active reservists will receive their questionnaire by mail.
