Trial is really a matter of form

THE Defence Personnel Executive is trialling 18 tri-service forms to replace 60 single-service forms relating to pay and conditions of service.

The new forms were developed in consultation with the three services, Corporate Services and Infrastructure Group, PMKeyS and the Directorate of Entitlements in response to feedback on the ADF Pay and Conditions Manual (PACMAN).

The feedback highlighted confusion about which forms to use in the current tri-service environment.

The trial began on February 24 and will continue until April 30.

Administrators and members are invited to comment on the new forms.

Directorate of Determinations Project Manager Client Development Shar Hinde said the feedback was part of DPE’s quality assurance policy that aimed to ensure the new forms simplified the processing of claims.

The reponses would be integrated into the new forms in May. The old forms would be removed after the trial period.

The forms cover areas such as ADF leave application, field allowance, members with dependents, and education assistance.

The new Member’s Guide to ADF Pay and Conditions of Service, which is due to be distributed in April, will contain references to the new form numbers. PACMAN will also be amended to show which forms should be used to apply for specific entitlements.
