Commander’s last visit

THE Commander Training Air Force (COMTRG-AF) Air Commodore Chris Beatty has toured RAAF Base Amberley’s Security and Fire School (RAAFSFS) in what could be his last visit to RAAFSFS as COMTRG-AF and a permanent member of the Air Force.

AIRCDRE Beatty’s association with the school dates back several years as both the Commander of Combat Support Group and COMTRG-AF.

During his visit, he presented commendations to Sergeant Kerry Georgesen, from the school’s Orderly Room, and Flight Lieutenant Tony Buffett and Sergeant Jim Altman, from the Military Working Dog Training Flight.

His last task for the day was to officially open Amberley's refurbished RAAFSFS Trainee Accommodation. Renovated at a cost of $2.4 million, the facility now offers the best standard of accommodation on the base.

AIRCDRE Beatty stressed the importance of people to the Air Force, saying projects such as the refurbished Trainee Accommodation contributed towards Air Force people’s welfare.
