RESERVE
personnel from No. 23 Squadron Operations Flight at RAAF Base Amberley
joined Permanent Air Force personnel from RAAF Bases Richmond and
Townsville taking part in a recent seven-day Basic Operations Officer
Course.
The course, held at Amberley, aimed to provide PAF and Active Reserve
operations officers with the skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary
to complete Advanced Operations Officer Training and perform, under
supervision, basic duties of an operations officer.
Course coordinator Flight Lieutenant Lynette Horne said the program
represented an important component of an operations officers
basic education.
In essence, the course provides theoretical and practical
instruction in aspects of air operations common to all operational
roles, FLTLT Horne said.
Course participants have demonstrated focus and aptitude in
their studies. Their new skills and knowledge will be put into practice
in the near future assisting Air Force activities in a wide range
of environments and conditions..
