Golfers finish second

AIR Force has finished runners-up to Army in the North Queensland Interservice Golf Titles held at Willows Golf Course in Townsville from October 21-23.

The Air Force golfers began with a 7-4 win against Navy in the match play, but lost their second encounter 7-4 to Army, which had earlier defeated Navy 91/2 to 11/2.

As a measure of the competition only one Air Force member collected a nearest to the pin (NTP) prize – on the second hole on day one. A Navy golfer won one NTP, with Army competitors winning the rest.

ADF members from RAAF Base Townsville, HMAS Cairns and Lavarack Barracks took part in the three-day competition.

Defcredit supplied the Air Force team with shirts.
