Movie Review
The Transporter

Familiar and Brilliant

The Transporter
Starring Jason Statham, Shu Qi, Francois Berleand and Matt Schulze. Rated M.
Reviewer :: The Big Irish Git

I’M not real quick at the recognition game and I’m dead hopeless at trivia – even movie trivia. This may seem a little odd for a movie reviewer, you might think.

But not really if you think about it.

Monster's BallMonsters Ball
Plot haunting and heavy in not-so-feel-good movie
Stars Halle Berry, Billy Bob Thornton and Heath Ledger. Columbia TriStar. Rated R. 108 mins.
Reviewer :: Ben Caddaye

SOME great movies aren’t necessarily great to watch. Monster’s Ball, described by several critics as the best movie of the year, fits into that category.

Van Wilder - Party LiaisonVan Wilder - Party Liaison
Mindless fairy floss - but fun
Stars Ryan Reynolds and Tara Reid. Columbia TriStar. Rated MA. 92 mins..
Reviewer :: Ben Caddaye

VAN Wilder (Reynolds) is entering his seventh year of college, but his extra-curricular activities – planning wild parties and pursuing members of the opposite sex –have left precious little time for study.

Foyle's War

Conflict, prejudice against pacifists

Foyle’s War – A Lesson in Murder. Friday, November 22 at 8.30pm on ABC TV.
Reviewer: Ben Caddaye

A lesson in Murder is the third episode in this four-part drama set in England during WW2.
Det Chief Supt Christopher Foyle (Michael Kitchen) is a policeman fighting his own war, far away from the frontline.
In this episode, he investigates the death of a conscientious objector in police custody and the booby-trap murder of a young evacuee at the home of the judge who had him arrested.
The evacuee’s death emerges as a smokescreen for a maze of family conflict and prejudice against pacifists – a smokescreen the dogged Foyle must find his way through.
If you’ve tuned into the first two episodes of Foyle’s War you'll already know how watchable this drama is. It’s one of those programs that hooks viewers within minutes and takes them on an enjoyable ride.
Those who haven’t seen it yet can still tune in and pick up the storyline and character relationships relatively quickly.
Foyle’s War is quality television.
