Crocodile HunterBy crikey, crocodile!
The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course.
Starring Steve, Terri and Sue Irwin, Magda Szubanski and David Wenham. Rated PG.
Reviewer :: The Big Irish Git

Crikey! Steve Irwin is at it again, only this time he’s bigger, louder and longer in his own big-screen Hollywood blockbuster. Well, blockbuster is probably stretching it just a tad but, crikey, however you look at it, The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course is larger than life.

Vampire flick that sucks
Rated MA. 100 minutes. Starring Stuart Townsend, Aaliyah. Roadshow. Available now.
Reviewer :: David Sibley

This vampire video sucked, if you pardon the obvious pun. Bad make-up, bad accents and a bad plot designed for teenagers who like caking their faces with white make-up, wearing black and wasting oxygen in shopping malls.

If you’re fond of a modern-day warrie, especially one set in our part of the world, Shooting Script is sure to appeal. It has been described as Air Force’s answer to Tom Clancy – something you should determine for yourself.

When one thinks of Australia’s involvement in the Vietnam War, thoughts automatically turn towards the infantry battalions that fought bloody battles and did our nation proud.

Focus on PTSD

About Us: The Unforgettable Experience – Post Traumatic Disorder. Friday, November 1, at 8.30pm on SBS
Reviewer: Ben Caddaye

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a harrowing condition that leaves sufferers prisoners of their own mind.

The Unforgettable Experience – a French documentary – interviews victims and researchers of PTSD, painting a vivid picture of how destructive a disorder it can be.

The documentary focuses mainly on Vietnam veterans, but also touches on PTSD’s effects on other victims of extreme violence and trauma.

While PTSD is a fascinating topic, this hour-long program fails to make the most of the subject matter through poor presentation.

Some documentaries can get by minus a narrator, but The Unforgettable Experience could have benefited from a voice-over of some description to help knit the contents together.

I don’t know whether it was the French influence but the program was also a little surreal and experimental in places, losing some of its punch in the process.

The Unforgettable Experience is still worth watching in parts but it could have been so much better.

In all, it’s sadly quite a forgettable experience.
