Changes to SLC course

The School of Postgraduate Studies (SPS) has advised that the Squadron Leaders Course (SLC) can now be completed in modules of two courses.

The first module comprises the first two weeks of the SLC, followed by a second module comprising the final week of a subsequent course.

Participants undertaking the second module are required to submit two dot-point briefs rather than the normal requirement for oral briefs.

The change has come about because, in the past, some Reservists have had difficulty in completing the course owing to the amount of time needed (three weeks) away from their normal place of employment.

While the flexibility offered by the modular approach will greatly assist a number of Reserve officers, the preference is still for officers to attend a single course in its entirety.
