GES transfer

Control of Ground Electronic Services (GES) flights has been transferred from Combat Support Group to Surveillance and Control Group’s (SCG) No. 44 Wing at RAAF Base Williamtown.

The transfer is intended to improve command and control arrangements by placing the technical workforce, whose primary duties include the maintenance of air traffic control infrastructure and communications, under the wing responsible for ADF air traffic control services.

Before the transfer, SCG held a GES managers’ workshop to discuss issues affecting the flights and plans for their integration into SCG.

The workshop enabled senior technicians from around Australia to meet Air Commodore Dave Pietsch, Commander SCG, and Group Captain Terry Delahunty, Officer Commanding SCG.
