ELEMENTS from the Air Force and Navy have participated in Exercise STARDEX, a multinational exercise off the coast of Singapore.

Fifty-one aircraft, including F/A-18s and Orions, and support elements from five nations took part in the exercise. STARDEX also involved host nation Singapore, Malaysia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Held in early September, the exercise scenario was centred on the mythical “Orangeland” whose aggressive intentions threaten to destabilise the region.

Attacks from the air were a highlight of the exercise, designed to test and develop operational procedures with our regional partners.

Australian aircraft from Butterworth were involved.
