Its
probably safe to say that most of the ADF have seen Black
Hawk Down. So my task is not so much to outline the story
but to let you know that its now available for video
rental and for sale in video/DVD outlets.
The
story if you havent seen it, is as follows.
Were
in Somalia in Africa. There are all sorts of nasty things
going on: people starving, warlords withholding aid-donated
food, and general unrest.
The
US sends a few teams of Delta Force and Rangers into downtown
Mogadishu to sort out a spot of trouble.
The
teams are proved slightly under-equipped when a 45-minute
job runs to the 15-hour mark, during which 18 soldiers are
killed and two Black Hawks are shot down.
General
mayhem takes over the city and riffraff with all forms of
weaponry come out to demonstrate their disdain for the way
the US is playing the game.
Long
story short non-stop action, some nice looking young
men and good weapon-handling skills.
If
you have seen it before, whats stopping you from watching
it again? Who can resist the thunder of the choppers and the
right-there-among-it-all feel and the stirring music?
I
know I cant. Count me in for another viewing.
